Only took about 3 hours to do 3 seconds of editing…and that’s not even an exaggeration. At least the intro’s done. One of the most difficult things I find with editing is starting the actual edit. I always have an idea of the middle and end but the intro is always a blur. First it usually takes me a few days to find a song I like. Luckily I already had an idea of what I wanted to use with Jordan’s edit so it didn’t take long. Then, deciding the first image I want the viewer to see usually takes me a while to decide upon. I wanted to do something a little different, from my usual “editing style” this time around. So far, I like the direction but I still haven’t decided on the first trick I’d like to show…just give me another 3 hours.

TWIXTOR TEST 2

Filmed at 30fps. Previous clips was at 60fps. Definitely need to shoot some new footy with Twixtor in mind. Last clip of Jordan before the edit drops.

Posted up a new banner today featuring Jordan Baez, shot by Ryan Loewy. I really liked this photo a lot when I first saw it. Thankfully, Ryan is always down to help out with the site so he said I could use it with no problem.
Usually, I put the full site address (www.irollny.com) on each banner but I wanted to do something different this time. Creating a new banner can be difficult. I have to crop each photo to fit the dimensions of the website which usually takes away from the photo to begin with. Ideally I would love to leave each photo used for the site banner un-cropped but then it would be too large for most screen resolutions and take up too much space on the website overall. Going back to this banner specifically I felt that putting the full site address would take away from the aesthetic of the photo. I decided to use the initials of I Roll NY (IRNY) this time as a simple solution. Also the use of the initials is a design that I’d like to use for future purposes so stay tuned.
